Soggy start to the week – but what a weekend!
- There have been instances where a “Clear Prop” from the pilot of an aircraft about to start has gone unnoticed or un-acknowledged by nearby ground personnel. As Pilot in Command, it is your responsibility to ensure your start will be safe. Please solicit a response from any persons standing nearby prior to starting. The most correct response from a nearby person is “Clear!” shouted right back, but any response including a thumbs up or even a wave can constitute acknowledgement of the “Clear Prop”.
- You folks standing nearby an airplane, when you hear “Clear Prop!”, shout “Clear” right back! This helps the pilot know you heard them.
Short talk this week. Be safe and have fun!
